Ruby L. Bayles

Ruby Lavon Bayles, 86, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Fountain West in West Des Moines.

Ruby was born June 17, 1927, in Audubon County, to Carl and Clara (Quist) Petersen. On October 17, 1950, Ruby married Robert W. Bayles and they made their home in Des Moines, raising two children, Robert II and Dolores. She worked for Dean Studios and later became a homemaker. Ruby devoted her life to family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a good friend to many. She will be deeply missed.

Ruby is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Bayles II, daughter, Dolores (Gary) Iseminger three grandchildren, Danyl (Tim), Deena, and Brandon (Jamie); and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Rylie, Kaydence, and Camden, with whom she thoroughly enjoyed her time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers at birth, and her husband of 39 years, Robert.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
