Warren B. Kruger

Warren B. Kruger passed away at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Altoona, Iowa, on September, 21 2013, at age 90.

He was born at Manchester, Iowa, on March 1, 1923, to John F. and Gladys E (Talmadge) Kruger. He died after a brief illness.

He lived in Manchester with his parents and sisters, Arline and Jean, until 1942, when he moved to San Diego, CA, for a brief period before he was drafted into the Army. Warren served in Europe from 1944-1945, and was awarded a Purple Heart.

In 1988, he retired from American Republic Insurance Co, after 42 years of service.

His wife, Olive Edna (Morton) Kruger of 56 years, predeceased him. Warren is survived by his son, Ronald W(Lois) Kruger, and sister, Arline Seals.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, at 2 p.m., at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona. A time for friends to greet the family will be from Noon to Two on the same day. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Cemetery.

Warren showed compassion to others and often prayed for the hungry and less fortunate. In lieu of flowers, please give generously to your local food bank.
