Dolores Ramirez

Dolores Jeanne Ramirez, 77, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at Union Park Health Services.

Dolores was born July 1, 1936, in Rippey, Iowa, to Dr. Walter and Pearl Chase. She received her registered nurse training at Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. Dolores retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where she had worked as an Occupational Nurse. She raised six children and loved family “get togethers” – they spent every holiday together. Dolores loved to read, she also enjoyed cross stitch and water aerobics. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gene; children, Tony Ramirez, Kathy (Mike) O’Hara, Dianne Ramirez, Steve Ramirez, Julie Luncsford, and Denise (Matt) Maifield; brothers, Dave (Barb) Chase and Paul Chase; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Dolores will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
