Roland Reel

Roland “Gene” Reel, 85, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Gene was born November 5, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and ballroom dancing.

Gene is survived by a daughter, Linda Burge and son-in-law Norman; sister, Carolyn Buttz; brother, Russell Reel; half-sister, Beverly Hoover; two grandsons, Brian and Scott Herman; three great-grandsons; two nieces; two nephews; and former wife, Joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother.

Private family services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
