William C. Jones
September 16, 2013
William C. Jones, 67, passed away on September 16, 2013. William was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Wilson Safo and Bernice Campbell (Jones). He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1967 and was honorably discharged in January of 1969.
In 1963, William began learning the Bible from many discussions with Jehovah’s Witnesses. After leaving the Air Force, he officially became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1969 when he was baptized. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, William was a teacher of God’s Word, the Bible, and enjoyed sharing its message with others.
In 1970, William was united in marriage to Constance Raye McKay. He loved her deeply and they were married for forty-two years.
William worked in the retail industry for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, jazz music, and learning new languages. William always had a fondness for the finer things – delighting in shopping and treating himself and his wife to nice gifts. William was a very generous man, he always made sure that his family and friends were well taken care of. While he and his wife had no children of their own, they cared deeply for their many nieces and nephews, as well as many other close friends.
He is survived by his mother, Bernice Campbell; sister, Jennifer Collie; his brother, Doyle (Doris) Boyd; and many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Jones; and brother, Harold Brown.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 2 to 4 p.m.

To the family & friends of William Jones......My wife Sheila & I are so very sorry to hear of your loss. William was so young - of course, our loved ones are ALWAYS too young to die, since Jehovah never purposed for any of us to die at all. We know that William is sleeping for now, and whatever pain he was experiencing is over. How comforting to know that in the resurrection, "God gives [them] a body just as it pleased him" (1 Co 15:38), which will be devoid of any of the affects or evidence of the former dying condition due to sin and imperfection. William loved his wife Connie very much, and often spoke of the cherished times he spent with her throughout their marriage. He also spoke highly of, and was very proud of his nephew Brandon. What was special about William though, was how he always talked about our God Jehovah and the blessings he received from him. One of his greatest blessings that he expressed to us, was that his mom started studying the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. He was so happy about that! He quoted the scriptures whenever it was fitting. He often spoke of the New World that Jehovah has in store for us, and what he wanted to do and experience when he got there. It was refreshing talking with him about these things! Be assured that you all are in our thoughts & prayers, and never forget that "the God of all comfort" understands, and WILL give you His "peace", which "will guard your hearts and mental powers by means of Christ Jesus" (2 Co 1:3; Phil 4:7).
