George Christiansen

George Christiansen, 95, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Trinity Center at Luther Park. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Private burial will be held in Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
George worked for Armstrong Tire and Rubber for 18 years. He also worked at Roland Hosery Mill, City of Des Moines, Solar Aircraft, John Deere Co., then Armstrong Tire and Rubber. In his retirement he worked at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. George loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
George is survived by his loving wife, Colletta; four sons, Tracy Christiansen, Lonnie Christiansen, George Christiansen Jr., and Gary Christiansen; three daughters, Linda Baessler, Gay Volgt and Gerry Childers; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Christiansen; three brothers and one sister.
