MaryAnn Shineflew

MaryAnn Shineflew, 84, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at UnityPoint Hospice Taylor House.

MaryAnn was born April 23, 1929 in Des Moines to Roy and Polly (Carson) Arrowood. She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and retired from Lutheran Hospital. MaryAnn loved spending time with her whole family. She always had fun and lived life to it’s fullest extent.

MaryAnn is survived by her children, Linda Hutson and Charles (Cindi) Shineflew; grandchildren, Cassidy Hutson, Barty (Alisha) Hutson, David (Sarah Knotts) Hutson, Jesse Shineflew, Andrew Shineflew and Alex Shineflew; great-grandchildren, Danny Hutson, Austin Hutson, Bryce Jeffers, Sebastian Hutson, Jacey Hutson and Natalie Nichols; great-great grandson, Hendrix Hutson; and sisters, Bernice Martin and Kate Porter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene Shineflew, sister, Naomi Halstead and infant son, Jerry Lee.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 19, also at the funeral home with burial to follow at North River Cemetery.
