Service Details
Lois Curry, 83, was born on August 28, 1930, in Altoona, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lenore Bailie. She passed away September 12, 2013, at Union Park Nursing Home in Des Moines.
Lois was a graduate of East High School and worked for the State of Iowa for 23 years. She was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Lois enjoyed sewing, playing cards at McDonald’s, and visiting the Northside Senior Center.
Lois is survived by her sons, Donald Curry and David (Diane) Curry; grandchildren, Andy, Jason, and Heather Curry, as well as her sister, Elizabeth (Dick) Bolton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Curry, and her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.

I worked with Lois in The Revenue Department years ago. She went out of her way to help me. A very nice person. My condolences.

I worked with Lois for a few years before she retired from the State. Such a neat lady and someone I looked up to. Her family was blessed to have her in their lives! Lois was an angel here on earth but her family now has an Angel looking over them. Glad she is reunited with Joe!

On behalf of myself and the staff at Union Park, please know it was our pleasure and an honor to care for Lois the last few months of her life. She had a quick wit, wonderful smile, and sincerely valued her family and life long friends. Thank you for letting us care for her.
