Margaret Prall, 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Valley View Village. Margaret was born March 12, 1919, in Rising Sun, Iowa, to Oliver and Hazel (Keeling) Ware.
She graduated from Runnells High School and married Kail Prall in 1940. They built their own house in Carlisle all by themselves and were married 67½ years until Kail died in 2007. She was a member of Carlisle Christian Church. They moved to Valley View in 1985. Later in life, Margaret wrote her own biography. She had an amazing memory and mind and was a master of crocheting. She also enjoyed making cards for friends and family.
Margaret is survived by her nieces, Marty (Mike) Ohrt and Janis (Doug Leonard) Ware and their families and step sister-in-law, Marcy Irons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kail M. Prall, brother, Gerald Ware, sister-in-law, Willi Ware, and step brother, Melvin Irons.
Private family burial will take place at Carlisle Cemetery.

My mother-in-law, Edith Hutchison,was a good friend of Margaret's when they lived in Carlisle. She now is living at The Village in Newton. She turned 90 on Sunday and had just received a birthday card from Margaret, so she was very surprised to learn of her death.
Margaret also was very kind to my husband and me when we were first married and rented a house across the street from them for a summer back in 1972. I still have several of her recipes in my recipe box and a little bird decoration that she made hanging in my kitchen. If anyone in the family has a chance please call Edith Hutchison at 641-792-0282. She wanted to express her condolences and did not know how to contact anyone.

My heart aches today for Aunt Margaret. She was an amazing woman and I always enjoyed visiting with her and listening to her talk.
To Marty and Janie, may the time spent really getting to know her these past few years give you many many memories and smiles.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Margaret Prall. My father, Wilbur Davison, is related to Margaret on the Keeling side. My mother, Doris Robinson Davison, was the sister of Betty Robinson Stewart, a close friend of Margaret and Kail. Mom is 90 and recently fell and fractured her hip. Wilbur is 94 and he fell as he was leaving the hospital visiting my mother. He also ended up in the hospital. Margaret was the instigator in my cousin Jo Ann Stewart meeting her future husband Tom Prall. We have lots of good memories. Margaret was also very helpful in sharing pictures and information with me on the Keeling side.
