Stanley Gullion, Jr.

Stanley Gullion, Jr., 70, of Des Moines, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013, surrounded by his family at Methodist Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Chariton, Iowa, on February 27, 1943, to Stanley and Edith (Agan) Gullion. The family later moved to Des Moines and is where Stanley grew up. Stanley worked as a Cement Mason and was a member of Local 21 for over 53 years.

Stanley will be missed by his wife, Donna; daughter, Tammy (Doug) Bachmann; step-son, Ronnie (Jeanine) Galvan; his sister, Claudine (Terry) Prenosil; his grandchildren, Nicole West and Eric Gullion; four great-grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brent.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Stanley will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
