Larry G. Parsons

Larry G. Parsons, 65, of Des Moines died September 6, 2013 at Mercy Hospital.

The funeral will be Tuesday, September 10, 2013, 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, September 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Larry enjoyed family, bowling, camping, family, picnics, watching sports, family, grandkid's sports, and by the way did I say family? Wife, sons, daughters, grandkids, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends who he considered his extended family.

Stranger was a word that Larry did not understand. If he saw someone that he thought he knew, he definitely did by the time they walked away.

Even though there was a lot of ups and downs in his life, Larry always remained rooted in his faith. He would talk about his faith to anyone that would listen.

Larry is survived by: Wife - Marilynn Parsons; Sons - Forrest (Robin) Parsons, Larry (Gloria) Parsons; Grandsons - Forrest (Rachelle) Parsons, Zachary Parsons; Great-Grandson - Brody Parsons; Siblings - Joanne (Alan) Fisher, Sammy (Phoebe) Parsons, Francis (Marsha) Parsons, Karen (Frank) Erickson, Earl (Liane) Parsons, Robert (Julie) Parsons; and many nieces, nephews and adopted family members that most people would call friends.

He was preceded in death by: Father - Gene Parsons, Mother - Adalene Parsons, and Grandson - Brandon Parsons.
