I am so sorry for your loss. He was not only my dad's (Brian Calland) best friend, but also a second father to me. He will be greatly missed.

I meant to say "over 40 years ago", not 50! years ago. Sorry!

Mrs. Hanrahan - It hardly seems possible that it has been so long, but over 50 years ago James was my very first boyfriend and, in fact, was the very first boy I ever kissed. You and/or his dad used to drive him over to my house in Beaverdale nearly every week-end. He gave me the most beautiful little diamond "promise" ring . . . which I managed to keep hidden from my parents, (they liked James just fine, but didn't approve of a "promise" ring for a 14 year old!), for the 8 or 9 months we were "going together". I have nothing but fond memories of my first "puppy" love. He was a nice, sweet boy and I remember my mom remarking on how polite he was. You obviously raised him well! I'm so sorry that his life here on earth has been cut so short and my thoughts and prayers will be with you and his loved ones.
