Service Details

Russell D. Lundstrom passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013, at Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness. Russell was born on January 20, 1944, in Virginia, MN, to Helgi and Ellen Lundstrom.

Russell was a 24-year veteran of the United States Navy. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and most recently playing pitch with the guys at The County Line Tap.

Those left behind to honor his memory are his wife, Darlene; his children, Danny Lundstrom, David Lundstrom, Tom Davis, Troy (Michelle Rager) Davis and Tammy (Steve Nelson) Lewellen; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Lundstrom; sisters, Eleanor Riphenburg and Elaine Wilkins; and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ethel Lahman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
