Service Details
James R. Hildebrand, age 65, of Norwalk, IA., passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013. He was born on October 26, 1947, to Vern and Viola in Newton, Iowa.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Pichon (Robby) of Runnells, Michele Hildebrand of Indianola, Amy Brown (Denny) of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Lacey, Shane, Samantha, Jesse, Kaylie; great grandson, Derek; brothers, Vern, Jr., William and Kenneth; sister, Barbara; and a host of other beloved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12 p.m. noon, on Friday, September 6, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. Friday.

To the family of James, I send my deepest sympathy. I am a volunteer with hospice and visited your dad several times in the last few months. We enjoyed playing cribbage, sitting outside, and watching tv together. His face lit up every time he talked about his daughters and family. He especially loved his recent trip to Prairie Meadows and to the Iowa State Fair. I so wanted to be able to attend services and meet you, but I have a previous committment on Friday that I cannot get out of. My prayers are with you...may your find strength and peace today and in the days ahead.

My love to Kim, Michele, Amy and extended family and friends. Uncle Jim to me. I am the niece that just bugged the butch haircut on you when you had child-care duty for the Osterman girls! WE could get in trouble too, like the time we took Dad's ford tractor and rode crazy in the clover field...whoops! Rest in peace. Love and hugs to the girls!
