Daniel A. Segura, Jr.

Daniel Antonio Segura, 79, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 28th Street, Des Moines, with a visitation for one hour prior to the service.

Daniel was born August 17, 1934, in Davenport, Iowa, to Daniel Anthony and Esther Cecelia (Gross) Segura. Daniel served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, and retired from the State of Minnesota. He worked in Sales for 30 years and for the State of Minnesota for 15 years, retiring in 2008. He and his wife, Frances were residents of Minnesota more than 25 years, returning to Des Moines in 2008. Frances preceded him in death in 2010. They were members of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

Daniel is survived by his children, Bobbi Segura (Bob Heles) of Des Moines, Elena Segura (Michael Wogrin) of Denver, CO, Tony Segura of Las Vegas, NV, Matt Segura of Hopkins, MN, and Maia Segura (Daimian Lix) of Seattle, WA; brothers, Bob Segura (Lynn) of Moline, IL, and Jack Segura (Marcia) of Ft. Thomas, KY; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Frances, Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary Ellen Flanders.
