Service Details

In loving memory of Victor Verl Lundy, 68, who woke up wonderfully alive in the presence of the Lord Jesus, July 22, after a courageous battle with cancer. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at First Federated Church in Des Moines. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Vic will be remembered for his quick humor, the work of his hands, and the faithful, tireless devotion to his family.
Vic was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska on October 30, 1938. He married Judy Franklin on June 11, 1960, farmed for five years, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, while working two jobs. Vic then worked 30 years as a secondary education vocational consultant for the State of Iowa. His many interests included home refurbishing and remodeling, carpentry, and all things mechanical.
Vic is survived by his beloved wife Judy; his brothers Lyndall (Rosalie), and Ronald (Sandy); his children, Brad (Lois), Kevin (Betsy), Tracey (Dan) Peters, and Kim (Kevin) Johnson; and his grandchildren, Brooke, Jay, Kirstin, Rachael, Brady, Jayke, Reid, and Justin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Irene Lundy; his brothers, Ed, Floyd, Jr., and Don; and his granddaughter Kara.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, or the youth department at First Federated Church.
