Marcia Kern

Marcia Kern, of Des Moines, passed away at the Taylor Hospice House on Sunday morning at 3:30 AM from a long term lung disease.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 42 years Donald Kern; her mother; Ellavene Helmers of Davenport: son; Donald Kern Jr. of Portland Oregon: grandson; Forest Kern of Ogden Utah: brothers; Dan, Dean and George: her sisters; Katie, Pam and Judy: and very special niece; Sarah. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, July 25 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The visitation will be held starting at 11 AM until the time of the funeral service. Marcia wished to be cremated following the funeral service.
