Henrietta Mae "Midge" Snyder

Henrietta “Midge” Snyder, 82, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She joins her husband of 52 years, Roy D. Snyder, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 30, 2011.

Midge was born March 9, 1931, in Des Moines, to James and Ethel (Kenfield) Calvert. She was employed by C & K Printing for 28 years and retired in 2004. She was a member of Local 177 Auxiliary and enjoyed going to garage sales. She loved her cats and country music. She was always up on the good juicy gossip, but above all else, she loved spending time with her family.

Midge is survived by her son, Roy (Kara); grandchildren, Roy (Miranda), Ashley (Duck), Michaela (Jackson), Michael, Qrisza, Karmylia, and Karoixa; great-grandchildren, Echo, William, Daniel, Mia, Lillian, and Jeremiah; sister, Polly Smith; and friends, Judy and Bob Wright.

In addition to her husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Calvert, Emma Keough, Norma Green, and Elaine White; and brothers, Robert, James, and Richard Calvert.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
