William Thomas Harrington, 79, passed away at his residence Thursday, August 15, 2013.
William was born February 22, 1934, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
William is survived by his brother, Harvey; sisters, Mary and Ann; children, Ramona Gatewood, Thomas Harrington, and Michael Harrington and wife, Dody; grandchildren, Brandin Krisinger (Christina Little), Tyler Armel, Allisa Killen, Cicely Gordon, Jordan Krisinger and Donavon Hardgrove; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Krisinger, Daja Lester, and Braelynn Krisinger.
He was preceded in death by parents and wife, Thelma Lillian Harrington.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 23, also at the funeral home.

To the Family of William "Bill" Harrington,
It seems like yesterday that Bill owned and operated one of the most professional car wash businesses in Des Moines, IA. His commitment to his work was beyond reproach. And, at the end of the workday, Bill was very devoted to his family. I know his presence on this earth will be missed, but rest assured that he will continue to smile down on you from his resting place.
Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory comfort you tomorrow. And, remember, when you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.
My prayers are with all of you today and in the future.

My uncle was once said to have an amazing walk like no other formed from confidence, grace and pose. He will be missed and loved for the rest of my days on this earth.

What a great man! He touched my heart the first time I met him! So caring and thoughtful. I know dad really enjoyed their friendship and by the love of God, the two are united again to watch over us. May God bless him and wrap him in everlasting love and peace. He will be missed.
