Kenneth Wiles

Reverend Kenneth O. Wiles, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at HCI Care Services Bright Kavanagh.

Kenneth was born October 29, 1920, to John and Virginia Wiles, Sr., in Richmond, Virginia. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. Kenneth lived in Des Moines from 1957 to 1979, when he retired from the U.S. Post Office and moved to Live Oak, Florida. He returned to Des Moines in 2006. Kenneth was a member of Faith Independent Assembly of God.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Virginia (James) Wiles Hall and Harry Wiles; step-children, Jim (Linda) Wiles, Laughvon Comerford, and Patricia Ellingson; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Essie Wiles.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2013, at Faith Independent Assembly of God, 6001 S.W. 14th Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Kenneth will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Essie at New Harmony Cemetery near Live Oak, Florida, at a later date.
