Patricia Howard

Patricia Howard, 77, died Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Urbandale Nursing and Rehab.

Patricia was born January 4, 1936, in Dixfield, ME, to Phillip and Winifred Gagnon. She lived in Maine until she was 15 years old at which time she relocated to Des Moines. As a young woman, she moved to Florida where she lived for 26 years before coming back and settling in Altoona. She was married to Richard T. Howard, and took pride in caring for her home and her family.

Patricia is survived by her son, James (Jodi) Coon, Newton, IA; daughter, Debbie (Stan) Hines, Altoona, IA; son, Bill Howard, Knoxville, IA; daughter, Leslie (Danny) Garrison, Des Moines, IA; sister, Fern Claus, Des Moines, IA; step-daughter, Jackie (Jim) Bodensteiner, Pleasant Hill, IA; step-daughter, Barbara Howard, Grand Island, NE; step-daughter, Brooke Howard, Des Moines, IA; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; daughter, Jean Benge Harrier; and four brothers, Phillip, Robert, Donald, and Henry.

According to Patricia’s wishes, her body has been cremated and there will be no services held at this time. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
