Rosemary Johnston, 60, passed away surrounded by her loving family, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Rosemary was born on July 3, 1953, in Des Moines, to Henry and Margaret Stanley.
She loved cooking and gospel music.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa Scott (Darryl), Laura Scroggins (Lawrence), Chad Johnston, and Mary Johnston Dock (Johnny); 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Delores Kingery, Emma Louise Thomas, Charles “Chuck” McGinnes, Jerry Hill, Harry Stanley, Mary Williams, Claudie Stanley, and Linda Stanley; as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She joins her parents, and her sisters, Helen Price and Vesta Allen, who preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 10, at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, 1338 9th Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Rosemary.

To The Entire Bereaved Family of Rosemary Johnston and Stanley Family:
The Emmanuel Church of God in Christ Family extends deep and heartfelt sympathy to you all in the home going of your beloved Mother Rosemary Johnston. She was a beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, beloved relative, friend and child of the King. She will truly be missed. Remember the good times you all have spent together that you can treasurer in your hearts forever.
COMFORT ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Isaiah 40:1 Look to God and know that He is able to bring the peace and comfort that you need at this time and always.

To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. Thank God for eternal life in Christ Jesus. Our prayers are with all of you for strength and increased faith, now and in the days to come.
