Service Details
Howard, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was born January 13, 1934, to Floyd and Willie Mae Brown in Oktaha, Oklahoma.
He graduated from East High School in 1953. He then went on to Drake University. Howard served proudly in the United States Navy as Chief Petty Officer. He was employed as Chief of Building Management at the VA.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, sister, Mildred (Eugene) White, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013, at Maple Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1552 Maple Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa. Friends may visit with family from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Howard.

Evelyn & Mildred, Im so sorry to hear of Howard's passing. I enjoyed visiting with him at the Nursing home at dinner with our Mom's. He had a great sense of humor.
