Service Details
Dan Olson, 64, went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was born April 23, 1949, to Archie and Rachel (Martin) Olson.
Dan married Fay (Foster) on February 16, 1981, in Des Moines. He was an Army Veteran who served in Viet Nam, he then later retired from the USPS in 2009.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Fay; son, Gregory (Tara) Wright; daughter, Krysten Olson; four grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Mason, and Manning; sisters, Ramona (Jim) Watson and Sally Lawson; and many nieces and nephews that he loved greatly.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther; and brothers, Art and Edward Glen.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Our family is so sorry to to hear that Danny has passed away. We talk about how we were neighbors and all of us kids played together. I recall how Danny was Dadddy's little boy and would stand on the seat next to his dad in the car. Our thoughts and prayers go to his wife Fay and his family.

I am a friend of Krysten, Just wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss, from what Krysten expressed, he was a very special man. I am sure that he was welcomed into Heaven with open arms. Glad he is at peace. Prayers for the family at this time of grieving.

Fay and Family . . . I am so sorry Dan has had to go through the pain and suffering of Cancer as have many family members before him. It is so difficult to stand beside and see them endure the effects of this dreadful disease. My heart goes out to all of you. We do have a Great God who stands along side us and will help during these dark times. Hang in there! God will help you to see a more enlightened time. My prayers are with all of you.
