Kirk Duncan, 70, passed away at Taylor House Hospice on Monday, July 22, 2013.
Kirk never met a stranger. His sense of humor and his giving nature won him many life-long friends. His loyalty and laughter will be missed by so many.
Kirk was employed by Crouse Trucking, Simon Backhoe, and retired from Cooks Plumbing. After retirement, he then went to work for ABM Parking Services at the Des Moines Airport.
Left to cherish Kirk’s memory are his wife, Susie; step-son, Adam Hutchinson (Shannon); step-grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, Tyler, Emma, and Ella; forever step-daughter, Debbie Terrell; half-sister, Robin Duncan Scott; and many close relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Louava (Evans) Duncan.
A Celebration of Kirk’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 27, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Sue, you and Kirk were still in that wonderful honeymoon stage of life. You had more love than most people who've been married for may years. And the fun times??? Well.. who else would do those funny Vegas Christmas cards?? Remember, you are not alone, he's always with you. When the phone rings and nobody is there, it's your Kirky saying hello and he's okay.

Kirk was my life and taught my brother and I so much. Kirk was a kind Big hearted m;an that would do anything for a friend. He was loved and will be missed by many. He was my hero in many ways and I will miss him so much.

I knew Kirk 25 years. He was my neighbor, BS partner and most of all my friend. I promised you I would not cry. I am sorry to break that promise my friend. You will be missed but never forgotten. Don't worry about Susie, Bobby and I will do anything to help her out.

Too many wonderful memories of great times with Kirk to mention. He was our son's godfather. His big smile and warm heart will remain in our hearts forever. He'll be missed!
