Service Details
Paul Gassmann, 60, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, July 22, 2013. He joins his father, Conrad; sister, Donna; and brother, Ralph who preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Debbie of Des Moines; son, Tim (Melanie) of Geneva, MN; daughter, Trish of Lansing, KS; son, Travis of Circle Pines, MN; daughter, Nataliya (Sergey) Redvanetska of St. Petersburg, Russia; grandchildren, Eliana, Amichai, Keturah, Hadassah, Urijah, and Evika Gassmann, and Maya Redvanetska; mother, Maggie of Park, KS; siblings, Frank (Cindy) of Garden Plain, KS, Anthony (Peggy) of Dresden, KS, George (Vicki) of Clayton, KS, Larry of Manhattan, KS, Mary of Portland, OR, Ann of Euless, TX and Theresa of Euless, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was born September 9, 1952, in Hoxie, KS, to Conrad and Maggie Gassmann. Paul and Debbie were married on August 17, 1974. He was employed by Snyder & Associates and was an elder of Experience Church.
Services will be held at Experience Church, 3800 E. Douglas Avenue, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013, and also from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, July 29, followed immediately by the Celebration Service at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Experience Church, www.experiencechurch.net/give.aspx in loving memory of Paul.

I happened to read a message on facebook someone wrote Trish - I send our sympathies at your loss. Paul was an extrordinary guy. God bless and comfort you in this time of "happy for Paul -sad for you-all."

We pray God's comfort to all of the Gassmann family. We miss Paul. Hadi said that she "will see Grandpa in heaven and he will be running to see us."

Our tears have overflowed here in Crystal Lake at the Edwards home. We have the most tender and loving memories of Paul and Debbie while they served and loved deeply at Christian Fellowship.
Just two weeks ago we watched the video clip of Debbie and her precious grandchildren on the news with, we believe, Paul at the camera faithfully loving over his family. I said to myself, " I miss that man of God and need to call him." Now I will need to wait a spell until I join him in the everlasting joy of eternal rest in our Lord Jesus Christ.
To Debbie, faithful wife, Beth and myself say, "We love you and will make that call to you soon." Sadly we have an unavoidable conflict otherwise we would be there. But know that we are praying for you and your dear family and in this time we weep with those who weep, knowing that joy will come in the morning, whenever that morning prevails.
To all the kids and grandchildren, we love you and know that our home is always open to you when you come to Crystal Lake.
Our deepest love and tears of both loss yet eternal joy knowing that our brother has entered his eternal home. Paul, you beat us to glory!

Paul was my fourth oldest brother. The order of siblings; Francis, Anthony, George, Paul, Lawrence, Ralph, Mary, Ann, Donna and Theresa. We had wonderful loving and caring parents, Conrad & Magdalen Gassmann (Weber) that gave us all a wonderful up bringing and faith that will stand the test of time. We lost Donna in 1967, my dad in 1975, Ralph on March 18th this year and now Paul. It has been a very tough year, but we will always remember Paul and the others with treasured and loving memories. May God Bless Debbie, Tim, Melanie & family, Trisha and Travis during this most difficult time of losing a husband, father, grandfather and loving brother.

Debbie, Tim, Trish and Travis: So sorry to hear about Paul. At times like this, it is hard to put in words exactly what to say. It is hard to lose someone you love especially when it happens so unexpectedly. You and the Gassman family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless and comfort you through this difficult time.

My heart goes out to you Debbie and the family as you go thru the loss of Paul, that was so sudden. May the good Lord bring comfort, peace and strength in each new day as you keep your eye on Him and His promises. May He lift you and your family up on His Spirit Wings. Debbie, Tim, Trish, and Travis and family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Your husband, father, and grandfather was also a good friend to me. You will hear many say he was a good man, friend...that he was loyal and a man of integrity....that he was fun and personable..that he loved The Lord and lead many to Jesus.
