John Raymond Farrell

John Raymond Farrell, 79, died July 22, 2013, in Osceola, Iowa. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on February 8, 1934, to Cleta and Faye Farrell.

John was married to the love of his life, Shirley Farrell, who passed away in 2007. To this marriage they had had five children: John Jr., Bradley, Mike, Brian, and Julie. John was known in the town of Derby, where he spent much of his life, as a “jack of all trades.” He helped everyone, and made sure everyone had a car that worked. John was a kind and compassionate man, always giving to those in need.

Those left to cherish his memory are his five children, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brothers, Larry and David Farrell, and sister, Shirley Goodwin. John was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Shirley, his brothers Richards and Gene Farrell, and his parents. There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., July 29, to celebrate the life of John, at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa.
