Charles “Charlie” Duane Robb, 65, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away July 21, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center.

Charles was born October 11, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa to Raymond F. Sr. and Halena Ross Robb.

He was a member of GCIU Local 727-S prior to retiring from Alcan Packaging, (formerly American Can Co.), in 2009.

Charles proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War, stationed in Germany. He served alongside his still best friend, John Quartullo from Philadelphia.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon; brothers, Floyd Robb, Jonnie Robb and Harold Dean Robb; sisters, Cheryl Fry and Ellen O’Halleran; and many nieces and nephews; Godson, Charles Joseph Grandstaff; special friends and comrades, Mark (Deb) Remsburg, Amanda (Brandon) Charter, Ashlie (Adam) Wernli, Gwenivere, Aydon and Piper; and his “like daughter” niece, Trudie Robb Holbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Larry and Lee: and his niece, Julie.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Living Hope Community Church, 2620 E. Watrous Ave. Visitation and Celebration of Life service is casual attire. Private burial will take place at a later date.
