Chester VanBuskirk, 64, passed away at Bright Kavanagh House on Saturday, July 20, 2013.
Left to cherish Chester’s memory are his wife, Betty; son, Jason (Andrea) VanBuskirk; daughter, Trudi (Gordon) Marchant; step-son, Darrell Rogers; grandchildren, Allison, Jourdan, Kyle, Torrie, and Jaidon; siblings, Gary VanBuskirk, Sheryl Gilmore, and Karen Switzer; many nieces and nephews; other loving relatives; and many special friends.
He joins his parents, Lester and Hilda VanBuskirk; brother, Jackie VanBuskirk; brother-in-law, Richard Gilmore; and step-son, Michael Rogers who preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, also at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Chester.

My condolences to the Buskirk Family. As your hearts are full of grief and pain, I hope that your family will draw comfort from the promise from God found in John 5:28, 29. Here we are assured of a wonderful promise that soon our loved ones will be resurrected back to life. Betty and family: May I wish my sincerest condolances for Chets death. Seems I just saw him at Sam's Club a few months ago. Did not see the obituary until evening so missed the visitation. So sorry to read of his passing. Prayers for you all from my wife and I.
