Dorris Yvonne DeFino, of Des Moines, passed away at Regency Care Center in Norwalk on Saturday, July 20, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Dorris was born on July 23, 1925 in Des Moines to Gladys (Bouma) and Carl Robbins.

Dorris graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. Dorris retired in 1987, after many years of dedicated service as a secretary for the Des Moines Public School System. She was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Quilter’s Club.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Toni Eilbert, Suzanne (Thomas) Dose, Michael (Kathy) DeFino and Charles (Julie) DeFino; ten grandchildren, Yvette, Deneen, Brandi, Ashlee (Kevin), Justin (Heather), Elise (Brian), Logan, Jeremy (Janelle), Nick (Kaily), and Anthony (Jessica); fifteen great-grandchildren (plus one on the way), Connor, Margo, Cole, Cason, Sierra, Lauren, Briana, Dominick, Danielle, Kennede, Seth, Kobe, Bianca, Giada, Callan and Alexandria; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mildred M. Thompson and her son in-law, Richard Eilbert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church in memory of Dorris.
