Nadine T. Abbott, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Manor Care in West Des Moines, IA. She was born July 16, 1918, in Kansas City, Missouri, to David Sr. and Julia (Patterson) Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Langston Abbott, and siblings David Jackson, Jr., Goldie Jackson, Pauline Garner, Dexter Cannon, Elmer Tolson, Jr. and Raye Galbreath.
Nadine was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church and served diligently on the Usher board. She retired from the State of Iowa in the late 1980’s. Some of Nadine’s hobbies and interest were bowling, art, and participating in various social clubs. She was very artistic and loved entertaining.
She is survived by her son Carl E. Taylor, Jr., of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Donna Abbott-Winfrey of Moore, OK; grandchildren, Orlando Taylor of Gilbert, AZ, and Kevvin L. Taylor of Phoenix, AZ, Kai-Ondra Abbott of Norman, OK, Antoine Abbott, Sr, and DeMarco Abbott, of Moore, OK; six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Corinthian Baptist Church, 814 School Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Corinthian Baptist Church in loving memory of Nadine T. Abbott.

My condolences to the family of Mrs. Nadine T. Abbott, be in comfort knowing that the Bible states; Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8 NLT).
Mrs. Abbotts family know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you share this time of bereavement together. To God be the Glory for 94 years she has had on earth, and to God be the Glory for the rest of her life she will continue to have with our Lord Jesus Christ-Rosanna

To the family of the beloved Nadine Abbott, my love, sympathies and condolences goes out to all of you for your loss!
