Dorothy M. Rains, 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at her home in Florida.
There will be a grave side service at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
Dorothy was born November 14, 1926, in Lake Worth, FL. She had been a resident of Lakewood Park, FL, since 1984, coming from Des Moines, IA. Prior to retirement, she worked as a cook for retirement homes. Dorothy was a member of Northside Worship Center.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Adele Porter of Titusville, FL; sons, Charles W. Rains of Pleasantville, IA, Bryon Rains of Lakewood Park, FL, Floyd Rains of Des Moines, IA, Timothy Rains of Des Moines, IA, and Jeff Rains of Lake Worth, FL; and many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dehl Rains; daughter, Carol Sue Rains; sisters, Joyce, Ruth, and Doris; and brother, Delbert.

Adele,Charlie, Floyd, Bryon, Timmy and Jeff. We're so sorry to hear about your mother. I just got to read last weeks papers today as Michelle has been in the hospital. We certainly would have come to the services. We still think of you guys often and the times on "Garfield". Michelle is still there.. We lost Mom in 2008. Take care...Keith
