David Charles Pingel, 69, passed away peacefully at Taylor House July 10, 2013. A celebration of David’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1200 Warrior Lane in Waukee with burial at Waukee Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rosary recited at 5 p.m.

Born September 12, 1943 in Fort Dodge, David graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1961. He attended Fort Dodge Community College for one year and transferred to Iowa State. He graduated from Iowa State with an accounting degree in 1966. Dave was a Certified Public Accountant, working for Peat Marwick Mitchell, Massey Ferguson and Greyhound Lines.

David was married to Margaret (Peg) Kenyon for 47 years. They were blessed with four children: Debbie, Mike, Theresa and Patty. They lived in Clive and Carrollton, Texas. David and Margaret moved back to Clive, Iowa in 2008 after they retired.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter, Debbie; son Mike, his wife Tammy and their children Nick, Lindey and Natasha; daughter Theresa, husband Brett and their children Grant, Max, Jack and Abby; daughter Patty, husband Cole and their children Makynzie, Sydney, Ethan and baby Camden on the way; his brothers, Dan, Doug, Paul, and Louis. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Charlotte Pingel; and his sister, Elizabeth.

Dave was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was an active volunteer with the Knights and thoroughly enjoyed helping others. Dave was named Knight of the Year for his distinguished service with the Knights.

We want to thank all family and friends for the loving support we have been given throughout this very tough time. David was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
