Robert R. Rydell

Robert R. Rydell, 83, passed away at Scottish Rite Park on July 7, 2013.

Robert was born August 9, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Olaf and Edna (Selby) Rydell. He was a life-long resident of Des Moines. Robert graduated from East High School, class of 1947, Grandview College, and Drake Law School. Robert was an attorney and partner with the Reimenschneider, Rydell & Smalley Law Firm. He was a member of Staves United Methodist Church, Des Moines Sertoma Club, Eastgate Masonic Lodge, Scandinavian Club, United Methodist Foundation, and Westmar College Board.

Robert is survived by his wife, Gerry Rydell; children, Kristi (Fred) Krambeck of Kimberling City, MO, Kathy (Mark) Hintz of Altoona, IA, Karen (Ric) Powell of Pleasant Hill, IA, and Mark (Valerie) Rydell of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 11, at Staves United Methodist Church, 2747 East Madison Avenue, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Berwick Cemetery in Berwick, Iowa.
