Patrick A. McNaney

Patrick A. McNaney, 58, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Patrick was born January 19, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John Patrick and Mary Catherine (Dunagan) McNaney. He was a caring, fun loving man. He will be greatly missed by his family; he was the best father anyone could wish for. Patrick was a proud Eastsider. He loved the Cardinals, hot ribs, and cold beer. He was proud of his Irish heritage and also of the fact that he had been in his Union for 27 years.

Patrick is survived by his daughters, Casey (Josh) Free and Kelsey McNaney; siblings, Mike (Karen) McNaney and Debbie McNaney; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Keith) Brown, Megan (Andi) Redhead, Danielle (Mike) Moen, and Jeremy McNaney, as well as many other nieces and nephews; great-nephew, Kaden McNaney; his dog, Crazy; special “grandchildren,” Laci Houghton, Ashlynn Bailey, and Emma Ballentini; and his Local 310 Union brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
