Jackie (Van Horn) Sparks

Jackie Sparks, 63, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born November 2, 1949 to Clarence and Phyllis Van Horn in Des Moines.

Jackie was a very crafty person who enjoyed making scrapbooks and other things for her family. She also enjoyed going to the casino in Tama and going out to dinner with her sister. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by her children, Toni (Howard Wood) Siders, Mike (Romy) Siders, Clayton (Jackie) Van Horn, and Tina (Donald) Oviatt; grandchildren, Brian, Beth, Timmy, Shane, Ashley, and Zach; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Brandi) Van Horn and Jeffrey (Janet) Van Horn; sister, Jeannie Beebe; loving dog, Nick; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Family will greet friends 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
