Robert L. Weddell

Robert L. Weddell, 56, passed away at his home Thursday, June 27, 2013.

Robert was born February 19, 1957, in Des Moines, to Francis M. and Grace Weddell. He graduated from Lincoln High School and earned his degree from Simpson College. Robert had worked as a computer operator for the City of Des Moines for 13 years, and for the past several years was a truck driver for Mail Contractors of America. He enjoyed keeping up with the most recent computer technology and reading. Most importantly, Robert was a strong family man. He loved spending time with his family and they meant the world to him.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; daughters, Becky (Chad) Fitzgerald and Cari Weddell; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ryan; brothers, Michael (Patsy), Ron, Jim, Mark (Dena), and Raymond (Michelle); many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended relatives and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
