Service Details

Jim E. Moore, 56, died Monday, July 16, 2007 at his home in South Des Moines. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 19th from 5-8 pm with services on Friday, July 20th at 10am at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Jim was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 11, 1950 to James A. and Virginia M. Moore. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968 and shortly after married Cheryl Gray in 1969. Husband, Father and Entrepreneur were among his many successes in life. Jim owned and operated Jet Print in Ames, Iowa since 1985 where he was active in the development of Main Street business and supported many ISU activities and community events. His shop promoted a “pet friendly” environment with treats available for all visitors. From racing ice boats in his younger days to driving his old Triumph car, Jim’s outlook on life was one to be admired.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Evan (Angela) Moore, daughter April Moore, and mother Virginia Moore all of Des Moines, sister Carolyn (John) Griglione of Alexandria, Virginia, brother Wayne (Debbie) Moore of McKinney, Texas, nieces Michelle Griglione, Michelle Clinch, Heather May and Mary Gray and nephews Chris Sepanski and Mike Gray. He was preceded in death by his father James A. Moore who managed Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home for many years.
Jim will be loved and missed by many including his dogs Decker and Roy. Memorial contributions may be made to any animal shelter or Hospice of Central Iowa.
