I worked with Bill on midnight patrol for many years and he was a solid cop and great guy. He worked for me in the Detective Bureau for many years and I cannot recall a time when he was ever in a bad mood or disrespectful to people. The true success of a police career is to leave the place and have your peers speak highly of you when you are gone. Bill Boggs was that type of officer. He left the ego-tripping to others and instead concentrated on being a good police officer. I will miss him very much. Rest in place "Billy-B"

I didn't know Bill well, but each encounter was very pleasant. The last time I spoke to him, he told me how excited he and Terry were re: her retirement. It's hard to understand why they will not get to spend that "season" of their lives together. The family have been blessed with wonderful memories of an outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you. God bless.

Terry and family. I am so sorry to for the loss of Bill. I started my career with Bill at Urbandale and worked the swing shift with him for quite a while. We would sit in our cars and talk on those boring night shifts for hours. He made me laugh harder than I have ever laughed since. He was a great guy and I am glad I had the opportunity to serve with him.

To the family of Bill Boggs:
As a personal friend, fellow pilot, fellow credit union board member and, of course, fellow police officer I cant tell you what a sense of loss I feel over the death of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. Bill and I served together for more than thirty years on the police department. It was during that time we spent over eight years on the Credit Union board of directors. And, not to forget the many an hour we spent together flying Cessna #N34915. Terry, I know you havent forgotten that.
I want you all to know that your husband and father was very well liked by all who knew him and he was a darned good cop. I know. I worked with him for years. He was honest, fair, hard working and dedicated and he loved his family very much. Bill and I were allies on the Credit Union board at a time when we made some difficult and unpopular changes. Changes like allowing our children to become members and build credit histories long before they turned 18. Thats been a huge advantage to all of our children over the years and he did it for you. But beyond the friendship and associations I just want to say that your dad (husband, Terry) was a good man, a truly good man. He was a good friend and I am the better for it. I will miss him greatly.
