Ronald Johnston

Ronald Lee Johnston, 65 and surrounded by loved ones, died on July 15, 2007. Born on July 19, 1941 to Edwin Johnston and Mildred Schultz Johnston Pickrell, he lived the majority of his life in the Des Moines, area.
In 1960, Ron fell in love with and married his life partner Evelyn June Reynolds. They were blessed with daughters Laurie Ann Johnston and Shelley (Mike) Eastridge and a grandson, Johnston Lee Eastridge.
Ron’s strong mechanical skills lead him to his career as a truck mechanic at Flynn Dairy back in the 60’s. In 2002 he retired from Roberts Dairy.
A few of his interests included helping others, restoring classic cars, outdoor life, hunting with friends and brothers and going to Better Brake and Capitol City Tire.
Thank you to all of the many family, friends and medical professionals, which are too numerous to list. Per Ron’s request there will be no formal services. For all that were touched by his inspiration and love, there will be a graveside service at Rising Sun Cemetery on Saturday, July 21st at 10:00 AM. A celebration of his life will follow in the afternoon. Please contact any family member for further details.
