Joseph Meyers, Sr., was born June 15, 1944, and entered into heaven on June 13, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Minnie Meyers (Keller); sons, Joseph William Meyers, Jr., and Theodore Russell Meyers; daughters, Pennie (Mark) Harlow, Gwendolyn (Tim) Brettmann, Tammie Sue Meyers, Robyn Ann Mead, and Karen (Kevin) Smith; grandchildren, Stephanie Harlow, Joshua Harlow, Thomas Harlow, Nathaniel Harlow, Mathew Dickey, Mary Dickey, Gabriel Meyers, Jessica MacGregor, Jacob Meyers, Eric Meyers, Christopher Smith, Christa Smith, Christiana Smith, Kelly Smith, Josiah Smith, and Chelsea Smith; great grandchildren, Kasthryn Bensley, Mary Bensley, Christopher Lindsey, Ophelia Harlow, Anastasia Harlow, Noah Harlow, Michael Dickey, and Lily Ann Meyers; many nieces and nephews; his sisters, Ruth Gracey, Jean Kirkpatrick, Judy Richards, Sheila Meyers, and Betty Erixson; brother-in-law, Robert (Sandy) Keller; and sisters-in-law, Kay Boe, Blanch Schnathorstand, and Karen Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Scott Meyers; his parents, Nicholas, Sr., and Julia Meyers; brothers, Nicholas, Jr., Marty, Dale, and Dave Meyers; sister, Opal Salisbury; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Roberta Keller.
Joseph was a big Hawkeye fan.
Funeral Services will be held, 1 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be Sunday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Feel free to wear your Hawkeye attire.
