Brenda Koenigsdorf
June 12, 2013
Brenda Lea Koenigsdorf, 48, was born August 8, 1964, in Des Moines, the daughter of Carroll and Esther (Hick) Purdy. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at her home.
Brenda had a heart of gold and was one of the most giving, caring souls you would ever meet. She enjoyed volunteering, especially with the Food Pantry through Adventure Life Church, as well as crocheting hats for the babies at Blank Children’s Hospital. Above all else, Brenda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Even with all of the health obstacles she faced, Brenda always put others first.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is survived by her loving husband, William Koenigsdorf; her sons, Robert (Antonia) Koenigsdorf and Brandon (Samantha) Koenigsdorf; her beloved grandchildren, Makenna, Robert Jr., and one on the way, Brandon Jr.; brothers, Anthony Purdy and Mike Harris; many nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James C. Purdy and Jody Purdy, and her grandparents, Albert and Thelma Hick and Earl and Merle Lehman.
Private graveside services will take place at Rising Sun Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Brenda.

Brenda was such a kind soul, always putting others before herself. She always was upbeat even when life was at the lowest. I am very sad at the passing of such a good friend. I know she loved her sons and loved seeing her grandchildren. I am sure she is looking on them and smiling from Heaven. Thank you always for your friendship and your un-judging guidance and advice in times of need.

To my loving childhood friend, My prayers go out to all the family. Although we haven't seen each other in thirty years god made sure I finally found you and our six hour conversation a couple weeks ago brought me right back to you and caught up on all of our lives that we missed out on. You will be missed and I know that we will meet again someday. Rest in Peace my Dear Friend with all my Love

We're in shock and are sorely grieving Brenda's passing so soon. She was so loving caring and funny and it was amazing to have met her in person in Altoona. It was one of the highlights of our life, meeting you all. Her life was so burdoned by her many health issues that she so bravely and couragiously endured. Rest In Peace in Gods loving arms. We will miss and love you always ((hugs)) XXOO
