Kelly Snyder, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Kelly was born September 2, 1969, in Des Moines, Iowa. Kelly’s boys were her life and she loved spending time with them. She spent many hours volunteering her time with Little League, working the concession stand, and watching her boys play. Kelly was also an avid animal lover and had rescued many animals. She was a selfless person and was studying to be a nurse.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Mason LeRoy, Clayton Ralph, and Alec Lee; mother and step-father, Sharon and Alan Heggen; father and step-mother, Jim and Diana Umphfleet; father-in-law, Ralph E. Snyder; sister, Jodi (Dale) Lyddon; niece and nephew, Heather and Aaron; step-brothers, Josh Casey and Jim Heggen; step-sister, Brenda (Mike) Carter; step-grandparents, Gerald and Patricia Heggen; brothers-in-law, Scott and Steven Snyder; special aunt, Lynn Love; special uncle and aunt, Dick and Shirley Umphfleet; very special friends, Ellen Campbell and Melody Bowen; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Edith and Marion Caldwell and Roy and Meda Umphfleet; brother-in-law, Mark Snyder; and mother-in-law, Barbara Snyder.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6th Drive. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 14, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Kelly.

My heart is deeply saddened at the news of Kelly's passing. However, I take comfort in knowing where Kelly placed her faith, and I know, that Kelly is home. As I think of Kelly this day, I think of this; 1 Corinthians 15: 20-23 - But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order; Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
Revelation 14:13 - And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!"
And lastly I think of these things: Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.
Kelly was a blessing to many on this earth. I pray for His perfect peace and comfort to Ralph, Mason, Clayton, Alec, and also for Sharon.

I am deeply sad about Kelly's passing and I pray for the whole family for your hearts to be healed with a peace and understanding that she is home safe now still looking down and patiently awaits to welcome her family home with her again.

Words themselves cannot fully express the sorrow that is felt over the loss of your dear Kelly. Losing a loved one is such a difficult thing to deal with, but especially when it comes unexpectedly. As time goes by,though, you will begin to realize that as you think of her smiles, her affection for family, her laughter, the pain has diminished a bit and you'll find yourself smiling again. I didn't know her personally but, having lost someone dear to me, I can empathize with the pain you have and continue to experience. What comfort such scriptures as John 5:28,29 brought me! You will read there about the promise Jesus gave of resurrecting our loved ones back to life. When he resurrected His friend Lazarus back to life, He showed his ability and desire to fulfill that promise. ( John 11:38-44 ) Can you just imagine the joy Lazarus' sisters felt when they held him in their arms once again? This joy we too will feel in the very near future. Until that day comes, we have the promise that God will draw close to those whose hearts have been broken ( Psalms 34:18 ) I truly hope these few scriptures have helped lessen the pain you feel as they had mine.

How many times have we lamented that life is too short? Your spirit will guide your loved ones for the rest of their lives. They are blessed due to your love for them and the compassion that you taught them.

What a wonderful tribute to Kelly. She was indeed selfless, putting everyone's needs before her own.
We will miss her, but are so lucky to have some great memories.
