Doris Voegtlin
June 05, 2013
To all of those who knew and loved her, she was “Dode.” On June 5, she threw on her boots, grabbed her coat and a bread bag, and went mushroom hunting. No doubt she is sitting with our dad, Bob, who left us on June 5, 1982. She will scratch the ears of all the dogs she loved and cared for as she keeps an ear and eye out for the wild birds she loved and knew. We will miss her terribly, but take comfort that she is where she loved to be and back with people she loved.

There will be a hole in my heart also.Gregg, Mom your used to call me her other son. Followed quickly by the rotten one. I don't think I was ever around her when I didn't hear her laugh. I will always cherish our fishing trip with her. I am so sorry for your loss and I know only time will lessen the hurt. I'll talk to you soon I'm sure.

Your mom was such a warm and loving person! Our boys always wanted to stop and visit her at the deli, she always made over them and then would give them a little treat! Our deepest sympathy is with your family during this difficult time.

I only knew Doris a short time having met her in the infusion room at Mercy. It was easy to quickly become friends with a person of such warmth and openness. I always noticed the gentle and mutually-supportive relationships she had with her children and cant imagine what a great loss this is for her family. I feel privileged to have known Doris and her daughters even though it was for only such a short time. I hope you are all together during this time and that you will all be well.

I did not know Doris as well as I did Jim, Wanda, and Norma, our families were together a lot. I have many fond memories of our times on the farm. Sympathy to you all for your loss.

What a beautiful memorial. I can't imagine the hole she is leaving in your heart which in time will be filled with her memories and stories. You kids were blessed to have her as a mom, and my brother Steve was equally blessed to have her as a mother-in-law. See you soon to celebrate her full life! Love to all. Gayla and Sal.
