Shirley A. Moore

Shirley A. Moore, 83, died June 1, 2013, at Genesis Senior Center.

Shirley was born February 5, 1930, to Ruth and Carl Frye, Sr., in Minnesota.

She enjoyed crafts, traveling, and was an avid reader. Shirley was a great cook and will be remembered as “Aunt Cookie” by her nephews. She was a long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Des Moines.

Shirley is survived by her sons, David (Susan) of Boone and Craig (Michelle) Moore of Des Moines, and brother, Paul Frye.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernie Moore; two brothers; one sister; and her daughter-in-law.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, June 7, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with burial to follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
