Velma Jean Rinehart, 87, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, from complications following surgery. She was born May 12, 1926, to John and Alta Wallace in Runnells.
Velma grew up in Runnells and graduated from Runnells High School. She was a life-long member of Runnells Christian Church. Velma enjoyed decorating and attending to her flower bed. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Velma is survived by her daughters, Judy (Dave) Person and Cindy (Richard Marsh) Bach; grandchildren, Jennifer Person and Ryan (Jody) Person; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Emily, and Zachary Person; sister, Doris Miller; and nieces, nephews, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Max Rinehart,and great-grandson, Benjamin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2013, at Runnells Christian Church, 309 Brown Street in Runnells, followed by burial at Lowman Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the church.

Judy and Cindy it was so sad to hear about the passing of Velma. Growing up in Runnells Max and Velma always tried to keep Dur and I on the straight path. They did a good job with me but I am not to sure about Durwood. They were such a big part of my youth and I will never forget them.
