In 1949, she was blessed to have found and married the love of her life, Mr. Pom Luong. Good fortune has given them 7 children – Pheng, married to Hao Lovan; King Luong; Thing, married to Noun Baccam; Deua, married to Camlieng Luong; Souane, married to Sisouk Phomvisay; Nong, married to Soth Luong; and La, married to Megan Luong.

In 1952, they moved from Sonla to Hanoi, Vietnam. In 1956, they then migrated to Vientiane, Laos. Due to the political change in Laos, the family migrated to Nong Kai, Thailand in 1976, as refugees to avoid persecution. In February 1979, they then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, in the United States of America to begin the American dream.

Throughout her life, she was passionate to raising the most loving and caring family. She was the heart and soul of the family, teaching us the true meaning and to forever cherish the family values. Always so considerate and putting each and every single 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild first was her life-long goal. After a long fulfilling life, she took her last breath peacefully at 12:30 a.m. on May 29, 2013, in her home, with her loving family by her side.
