Beverly J. McPhee

Beverly J. McPhee, of Des Moines, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Beverly was born in Casey, Iowa, graduated from there in 1955 then moved to Des Moines. She worked at Banker’s Life and stayed for years after the change to Principal.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Tina (Greg) Maser; sons, Keith (Mary) McPhee and Patrick (Kelli Larson) McPhee; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Paul Ludwig; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter; great-grandson, Jesse; her parents; her brother, Dennis Ludwig and her parents in-law.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Point Hospice.
Her family was her greatest joy.

Bev and I often went to lunch togethewhen we both worked at principal. I enjoyed all the times I spent with bev. I am sorry for your loss.

I worked with Bev as her assistant manager in Central Word Processing for many years. She was a hard worker, had a bundle of energy, and a fun personality. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I worked with Bev in Graphic Services at the Principal. She was quiet but had a sense of humor that would take you by surprise! I'm so sorry for your loss.

I worked with Bev for many years at Bankers Life/Principal Financial Group. She was one of my very favorites! Bev was a no-nonsense kind of person. She knew how to work, through in some humor and was always honest and fair. She was wonderful! I am so sorry for your loss!
