Margaret Rouston

Margaret L. Routson, 83, passed away peacefully Friday, July 13, 2007 at Fleur Heights Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., with cremation to follow the funeral. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Margaret was born February 27, 1924 in Des Moines and remained in the Des Moines area for most of her life. She worked for Bankers Life for over 10 years before her retirement in the late 1980’s. Margaret enjoyed camping and crafts, and was retired from the Corps of Engineers at Saylorville.
Margaret is survived by her son, Denny (Chris) Routson of Urbandale; daughters, Judy (Dave) Richards and Nancy (Ron) Smith, all of Des Moines; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack G. Routson.
The family will greet friends from 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or The Alzheimer’s Association Mid-Iowa Chapter in loving memory of Margaret.
