LaVera Tillotson

LaVera Rose Nicoletto Tillotson, 92, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. Vera made her home at Luther Park Apartments in Des Moines, Iowa. She donated her body to the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Vera was born June 27, 192, in Monroe County, Iowa, to Mary and Claudio Nicoletto. In 1938, she married Terry Tillotson, and to this union seven children were born. For several years she worked at Dart’s Childrens Shop in Des Moines, and at Rabenold’s Dress Shop in Montezuma. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and Women’s Society.

Vera is survived by her children: Terry (Donald) Bozarth, Barry (Janis), Janice (Tom) Frankum, Bruce (Midge), Ben (Jeneane), Mark, and Garry; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry, parents, and eight siblings.
